What can be better than drawing kisses and hugs?! Using x’s and o’s, the international symbols for hugs and kisses, can also be some fantastic pre-writing strokes. Crosses and lines are some of the first pre-writing strokes we see in children (it’s a step up from complete scribbling).
It is when their hands become a little more controlled and they are able to make these smaller lines that eventually will turn into letters! It can be tricky to get them in these spaces so if your child is at a late scribbling stage I would make the boxes way bigger to make the x’s and o’s in!
Enjoy and spread some x’s and o’x today Covid style!
