Last week we made a watercolor igloo and my kids enjoyed using the watercolors so much that I brought them out again. This time we used tape and watercolors to create a snowflake. Max had to try and figure out how many strips of tape we needed since snowflakes have 6 sides –so a little math added in there.
Then we just crossed the 3 pieces of tape on the paper and used watercolors to paint the entire page. As we painted we paid attention to the new colors we were making when we mixed some of the primary colors together! When the paint was dry we stripped the tape off and was left with a snowflake.
**Important tip** make sure the tape is all the way pressed down because if it is not, watercolors will spread underneath. We also did this on construction paper instead of printer paper.
