Fingerprints are fascinating! It is so fun to use magnifying glasses to look at our fingerprints to see how they are similar/different and what “fingerprint” each finger has. You could do this activity with an ink pad also but it can be more difficult for this “matching” activity–but otherwise ink pads are so fun to make fingerprints with!
I just drew some different designs to look like fingerprints (I am not great at drawing so it is what it is) and then my kids really had to investigate and look closely at the lines to get the right match! We ended up getting out the ink pads after and making fingerprints with our fingers and doing some more investigating!
