Ollie (3) has been carrying around a tape measure for the past two days. It goes everywhere with us even in the car and he tries to measure things in the car except he thinks that the numbers on the tape measure mean how old someone is (like we all have our own number on the tape measure). He was trying to find my age on the tape measure and it wouldn’t quite stretch long enough for his little arms HA!.  So, I decided to try a little measuring activity with him so that we could practice understanding what “measuring” means in a 3 year old way.

Simple as it comes. Cut out different sized hearts, draw a line through the middle and use any small manipulatives to measure with and count to see which one has the most (longest) and which one has the least (shortest).
